National Express buses provide big boost to British manufacturing

National Express, one of the country's biggest transport providers, has today (Thursday 20 March) announced the signing of a £100m deal for 600 brand new British built buses.  The agreement with Alexander Dennis will support 2,000 British jobs at the bus builders' Scarborough, Surrey and Falkirk sites.

Service Changes in Coventry from 27th April

Service 27

National Express Coventry will no longer operate Service 27.

This service is operated under contract to Centro and an alternative route will be provided by another operator from this date, for details please see the Network West Midlands website.

Service 21 continues to offer a frequent service between Willenhall, Whitley and the City Centre.

Coventry Friargate Development

The Friargate development work will start on Sunday 23rd March 2014. There are a number of changes to the road network as a result of this. The most notable change will be the closure of Warwick Road across the ring road by the station.

Gosford Gate Scheme - Vecqueray Street

From Monday 4th August 2014 until December 2014

Due to the traffic management imposed for the 'Gosford Gate Scheme' service 16, from University Hospital to the City Centre, will be diverted via Gulson Road, Ringway St Johns, New Union Street, Little Park Street, Earl Street and Jordan Well.

Vecqueray Street and Gosford Street will not be served.

Road Resurfacing on various routes

Between 23rd July and 28th July 2014 Coventry City Council will be carrying out surface dressing to various roads across the city.

While the roads affected all have road closure orders on them, we are told that buses will be allowed to travel through the roadworks.

Some bus stops may be affected for short periods and some minor delays to services...
