Dundee delight for Simon

Dundee

It’s both a New Year and new start for 31 year old Simon Mathieson as he starts work in his new role as Acting Director National Express Dundee.

‘It’s a delight to be back here in Scotland, and to be working in such an exciting business,’ said Simon. ‘I can already see that there is a huge passion for our bus business being expressed by our employees, by our customers and by the City of Dundee itself.’

Simon, who was previously Area Manager at the busy Birmingham Central bus depot was recently named as one of the ‘Top 40 Young Managers’ in the transport business by Transit Magazine. He brings a wealth of experience and skills to the Dundee role and has previously managed bus operations in Inverness, Elgin, Nuneaton and Oxford. While studying Transport Management at Aston University Simon also worked part time as a bus driver and still undertakes regular bus driving duties which enables him to meet up with customers.

Simon has met up with local stakeholders and has already been interviewed by the Dundee newspapers.
