NX Bus Division - Bus Driver of the Year Finalists!!

After various local heats and some healthy competition, the National Express Group's UK Bus Division now has its finalists for this year's coveted Bus Driver of the Year competition.

Representing Travel West Midlands this year in Blackpool will be Wolverhampton's Stephen Wilkes, who won the overall TWM local competition, second-placed Anthony Pedley from Walsall and Birmingham Central's Michael White. TWM winner Stephen is also brushing up on his French dialogue after winning a weekend for two in Paris which is part of the overall package for the winning driver!!

Travel Coventry's representative this year will be Karl Brown who will be appearing at the finals for the second time. The overall winner at Travel London was Walworth-based driver David Nazir. David will be making his first appearance at the Blackpool finals. Travel Dundee will be represented by experienced campaigner and winner of several past events, John Black and debutant Kevin Freeston.

William Shaw, Staff Development Manager said; "The overall standards across our local heats this year was extremely high. Our seven finalists will be very well prepared through their development training for the finals to give them the highest possible chance of success and we look forward to supporting them in Blackpool."

The Blackpool finals are taking place on 10th September opposite the town's Imperial Hotel on the esplanade.
