Travel Dundee - Award Winners!!

Travel Dundee is pleased to announce today that the Company have won the accolade of 'Scottish Public Transport Operator of the Year' at the 2005 Scottish Transport Awards which were held in Edinburgh on 28th November.

Jim Lee, Managing Director of Travel Dundee said; "We are absolutely delighted to have won the award last night and we are thrilled that the efforts of all our staff throughout the Company has been recognised by our industry. There has been a huge effort put in from everyone within the Company to make Travel Dundee one of the premier operators, not just in Dundee but in the country as a whole. We are also pleased that our partners Dundee City Council were recognised at the ceremony. We are proud to have become the first major operator in the country to operate with 100% low floor, easy access buses whilst also being able to boast a fleet fitted 100% with innovative, digital CCTV."

Jack Henry, Chairman of Travel Dundee added; "Coming on top of 2nd place at the UK Bus Awards two weeks ago makes it so sweet to named the country's number 1 bus operator. This is great news for the city of Dundee and for our staff who have worked hard all year. This is a fitting reward for their efforts and also the Dundee travelling public recognise the investment we have made in our operation. I would also like to pass on our congratulations to Dundee City Council for their achievement in becoming Local Public Transport Authority of the Year."
