How many buggies can be carried on a bus at any one time?
Our fleet is capable of taking a maximum of 3 McLaren stroller type buggies. Buggies come in many shapes and sizes and we are unable to accommodate all types on our buses. However, it should also be noted that if buggy on boarding is unable to be pushed through the passageway with ease, the buggy will either need to be folded or taken back off the bus. The passageway on a bus must be kept clear at all times except for standing passengers.

Can I travel on a National Express Bus if I am a wheelchair user?
It is a legal requirement that a space is allocated on all of our our buses suitable for a standard reference wheelchair (see FAQ below) Should a wheelchair user wish to board our bus and the space is occupied by a passenger or a buggy the driver will request that the space be vacated to make it available. Once on board your wheelchair must be able to pass through the passageway with ease as this must be kept clear at all times except for standing passengers.
Can my wheelchair be any size?
Unfortunately not, the wheelchair space on our buses is designed to carry a 'standard reference wheelchair' which has a maximum width of 700mm and a length of 1200mm. Electric wheelchairs will be treated the same as other wheelchairs, but there are some types of wheelchair which are not safe for carriage on our vehicles, such as scooters.
