Bilston Road to reopen on Saturday 2nd December 2017

Changes to the replacement bus service 79E from Sunday 2nd December 2017 - 

Bus services 79 and 79E will use Bilston Road in both directions. There will be changes to the timetable. 

We will undertake essential testing and commissioning activities, without customers on board. 

Trams will continue to operate for customers between Grand Central and Priestfield while testing and commissioning activities take place. There will be changes to the timetable.

Travelling between Grand Central, Birmingham and Wolverhampton City Centre

Trams will be in operation between Grand Central, Birmingham and Priestfield.

Customers wishing to travel further than Priestfield will be able to alight at either The Crescent or Priestfield to catch the replacement bus 79E or 79 to Wolverhampton bus station.

Bus stops on the diversion route via Stow Heath Lane, Willenhall Road and Horseley Fields will no longer be served.

Travelling between Wolverhampton City Centre and Grand Central, Birmingham

Customers starting their journey in Wolverhampton will continue to get on the 79/79E at Wolverhampton Bus Station Stand R. Conductors will be available to sell a range of tickets and provide travel advice.

The bus will travel to Priestfield and The Crescent via Bilston Road.  The bus stop near The Royal will be served.

Customers will be able to join the tram service at Priestfield or The Crescent to continue their journey towards Birmingham.

From Sunday 10 December 2017

Subject to essential testing and commissioning activities being successfully completed the tram service to Wolverhampton St. George’s will resume on Sunday 10th December.
