Engineering work - 25-31 October 2010
Midland Metro closes for upgrade works between Black Lake and Birmingham Snow Hill from 25 - 30 October 2010 (inclusive) and between Wednesbury Parkway and Birmingham Snow Hill on Sundays 24 and 31 October only.
Please think now about your travel options.
- A normal tram service will continue to operate between Wolverhampton and Black Lake between Monday, 25 October and Saturday 30 October inclusive.
- On Sunday 24 October and Sunday 31 October trams will operate between Wolverhampton St George’s and Wednesbury Parkway.
- Metro tickets will be accepted on National Express West Midlands bus routes: 74, 79 and 126.
Alternative travel arrangements
National Express buses will accept Midland Metro tickets and cards during this week on the following services:
- Service 79 - operates a frequent service between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Calling at stopping points adjacent to Midland Metro Stops. Journey time of approximately 90 minutes (journey time between Black Lake and Birmingham is approximately 50 minutes).
- Service 126 - operates a frequent service between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Journey time of approximately 90 minutes, this bus route does not call at points along the metro route
- Service 74 - operates a frequent service between West Bromwich and Birmingham. Calling at stopping points adjacent to Midland Metro stops. Journey time of approximately 25 minutes.
- Bus Stations or main interchange points along the route are at Wolverhampton, Bilston, Wednesbury Great Western Street, West Bromwich Central and Birmingham Snow Hill.
- The rail network can be accessed at Wolverhampton, The Hawthorns, Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham Snow Hill. (Please note - Metro and Metro/Bus tickets are not valid on the rail network).
