Over 600 people join Metro 99% reliability celebrations

Over 600 people enjoyed a free '99' ice cream at Snow Hill Station on Friday evening to celebrate the Metro’s 99% reliability record so far this year.

Staff from the Metro couldn’t believe how many people came to join them and have a free ice cream. In a little over two hours they handed out over six hundred '99’s and had been joined by many Metro customers including students, families, commuters and pensioners.

The Metro has recorded 99.1% reliability, and 98.8% punctuality so far this year, which is thought to make it the best performing light rail operation in the UK.

Dean Watkins, General Manager of the Metro said:
“We are delighted with these results, we know service delivery is the most important thing to our customers and that is why we have worked so hard to make our operation industry leading.”
