Revised timetable from Tuesday, 3 January 2012
From Tuesday 3rd January 2012 Midland Metro will be operating a revised timetable to improve services to our customers.
The biggest change is the introduction of the 08:08 departure from Wednesbury Parkway on Monday – Friday stopping at all tram stops and arriving in Birmingham Snow Hill at 08:30. This will provide additional capacity at the busiest time during the morning peak period.
This additional tram will then depart Birmingham Snow Hill at 08:35 once again stopping at all tram stops as far as Wednesbury Parkway where it will terminate at 08:57. This service arrives at West Bromwich Central at 08:48 in time for staff and students to get to the new West Bromwich College for a 09:00 start.
This extra service has been running on a trial basis since September 2011 and has proved to be very popular with our customers.
The 18:02 and 19:21 Monday – Friday departures from Wolverhampton St Georges will now terminate at Wednesbury Parkway rather than continuing to Birmingham Snow Hill.
The 18:42 Monday – Friday departure from Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton St Georges is withdrawn. There will still be a 7/8 minute service frequency departing Birmingham around this time.
There are several other minor changes to the timetable with a small number of departure times being adjusted during the Monday – Friday morning and evening peak periods to smooth out the service frequency. Please refer to the new timetable posters displayed on tram stops from early January and will be available on www.midlandmetro.co.uk shortly.
These changes affect Monday – Friday services only and there are no changes to Saturday and Sunday services.
