To park a car for 1 week in June (1st – 8th June 2013) National Express West Midlands were quoted £43.99 for the long stay saver car park at Birmingham Airport (booking over one month in advance).
Compare that to the £16.00 it will cost to get to the Airport & back with National Express West Midlands using a Family Daysaver (costing £8.00 & valid for up to 2 adults and up to 4 children) in each direction. A saving of over £25.00!
If there are fewer people travelling you can purchase single journey tickets for £2.00 (Adult) or £1.00 (Child) on board.

Buses from Birmingham / Yardley (Swan Island) / Sheldon (Wheatsheaf):
- You can catch the 900 bus from the following stops: Digbeth, outside Birmingham Coach Station (stop DS10), Moor Street Queensway, Pavilions (stop MS4), Park Street (stop PA1), and Digbeth, Allison Street (stop DS3).
- The journey time from Birmingham is around 40 minutes, from Yardley (Swan Island) it is about 20 minutes and from Sheldon (Wheatsheaf) it is just over 10 minutes.
- The 900 service runs every 15 minutes during the day (Monday-Saturday) and every 30 minutes very early mornings, evenings and Sundays.
- For any early flights the first service gets you to the airport for 5:27am Monday-Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays the first 900/900A service gets you to the airport for 5:42am.
From Coventry and Meriden:
- You can catch the 900 bus from Pool Meadow Bus Station which will take you direct to Birmingham Airport. The journey to the airport takes around 45 minutes from Coventry, and 12 minutes from Meriden Green and runs up to every 30 minutes during the day and every hour in the evenings.
- For any early flights the first service 900 leaving Coventry Monday – Saturday gets you to the airport for 4.53am. On Sundays the first 900 service gets you to the airport for 6:58am.
From Erdington and Chelmsley Wood:
- You can catch the 966 from Erdington 6 ways direct to Birmingham Airport. The journey takes a little under an hour and around 15 minutes from Chelmsley Wood.
- The 966 service runs every 30 minutes during the day (Monday –Saturday) and every 60 minutes in the evenings (Monday-Saturday) and Sunday daytimes.
- The first service leaving Erdington can get you to the airport for 5:45am Monday-Saturday and the first bus from Chelmsley Wood gets to the Airport for 5:25am (Monday - Saturday).
From Solihull:
- You can catch the 966 from Solihull Railway Station or from Solihull Town Centre (Poplar Road) direct to Birmingham Airport. The journey takes under 25 minutes and runs up to every 30 minutes during the day (Monday -Saturday) and every 60 minutes in the evenings (Monday-Saturday) and Sunday daytimes
- The first service leaving from Solihull gets to the Airport for 5:47am (Monday - Friday), 5:52am on Saturdays and 10:39am on Sundays.

NEW - Catch service 97 to/from the Airport and Birmingham, Bordesley Green or Chelmsley Wood:
Since March 2013 some journeys on service 97 have been extended to serve Birmingham Business Park, the NEC, Birmingham International Rail Station and Birmingham Airport.
This service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, giving you the flexibility of travelling when you want - great for shift workers or for catching those early morning flights!
- Buses run every 30 minutes from early in the morning until late in the evening and every hour overnight.
- Journey time from Birmingham is just over an hour and from Chelmsley Wood it takes about 20 minutes.
- Buses leave Birmingham from Moor Street Queensway (stop MS8), Park Street (stop PA1), Digbeth, Allison Street (stop DS3) and Digbeth, opposite the Coach Station (stop DS4)

Returning home:
It’s simple to catch the bus back too. Directly outside Terminal 1 as you exit the airport are bus shelters marked with letters on. Simply go to the correct letter which represents which bus you’ll need:
J – 900 to Birmingham / Yardley / Sheldon
- The last bus leaves at 00:29 daily. Buses run every 15 minutes Monday-Saturday daytimes and every 30 minutes evenings and Sundays
K - 900 to Coventry / Meriden
- The last bus leaves at 23:32 daily. Buses run every 30 minutes Monday- Sunday daytime and every 60 minutes in the evenings.
K - 966 to Solihull
- The last bus leaves at 00:17 (Monday-Saturday) and 18:19 on Sundays. Buses run every 30 minutes Monday-Saturday daytimes and every 60 minutes Monday-Saturday evenings and Sunday daytimes.
L – 97 to Chelmsley Wood & Birmingham via Bordesley Green / 966 to Chelmesley Wood & Erdington
- Service 97: Buses run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a half hourly service from early in the morning (05:10) until late at night (23:20) and an hourly service overnight (from 00:15 until 04:15)
- Service 966: The last bus leaves the airport at 23:38 (Monday-Saturday) and 17:52 on Sundays. Buses run every 30 minutes Monday-Saturday daytimes and every 60 minutes Monday-Saturday evenings and Sunday daytimes.
