Big Hearted Bus Staff ’Smile’ As Charity Funds Grow
On the 24th July Travel West Midlands a launched a ’Smile’ campaign to refocus some of the priorities within our business. Also to move our customers to be friendly towards our staff. The message contrary to what people believe is that we are not in the ’bus business’ moving people, but that we are in the ’people business’ moving buses. With people very much in mind our staff have been out actively fund raising for charity. Assistant Traffic Manager Suki Nazram of West Bromwich bus garage bravely offered his luxuriant head of hair as a charity donation!Suki who has responsibility in the garage for service , raised £200 as a charity donation for Sandwell Hospital Stroke Unit, by allowing his hair to be cut off! Dave McCall General Manager West Bromwich said "Suki?s contribution raised a laugh in the in the depot which is always a good achievement and we are pleased that Suki has been brave enough to parade his ’bald head’ with a ’smile’.It didn?t stop there either as a further £250 was raised for the Children?s Ward at the same hospital by our staff running their own raffle competition. We are certainly raising a smile here in West Bromwich and we know that right across the company other garages are doing something very similar."
