Blooming Buses Nets a Winner!!
The Jewellery Quarter Regeneration Team and Travel West Midlands have recently joined together to support the Jewellery Quarter’s entry in the Heart of England in Bloom competition.The winner of the recent art competition, which was launched to support the campaign and will see special vinyl’s on Travel West Midlands’ 101 service, is 4 year-old Jada Davis-Manning, a pupil at Brookfields Primary School in Hockley, Birmingham. Jada’s design, which featured a row of colourful flowers and flowerpots was picked by the judges for its eye-catching use of colours and originality.Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director for Travel West Midlands said; "We are pleased to be displaying Jada’s fantastic winning entry on several of our vehicles on the 101 route in Birmingham. I think its safe to say that we are likely to be the only bus company in the UK to be involved in the overall Britain in Bloom competition - fantastic for us and our customers. We have been delighted with the success of the competition and looking through some truly inspired designs."Andy Munro, Operations Director for Birmingham City Council?s Jewellery Quarter Team said; "The winning entry looks a picture on the local 101 bus. It demonstrates what the In Bloom competition is all about - involving the local community and adding colour to brighten up the area."The winning design as been placed on the windows of vehicles operating on TWM’s 101 service.
