Branding Going in the Right Direction

Travel West Midlands employee Mark Newman goes to the top of the class for his bus branding initiative - and it certainly was a capital idea! The Company has recently taken delivery of 9 brand new easy access double deck buses worth £1.4 million for the 900 route which connects Birmingham City Centre with Coventry providing an important link with Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham International Rail Station. Mark, 37, from Witton, who has worked for the Company for 10 years, came up with the original idea for branding the buses ’B to C’ making them easily identifiable for passengers.Mark, a Scheduler based at Birmingham Central Garage where the service operates, said: "The idea for the branding came from the two Cities that the service links --Birmingham and Coventry - B and C. I then thought that linking the two with an arrow would indicate the connection and our marketing department did the rest. The final branding is eye catching but simple and gets the message over to passengers that we can get them from A to B!"The new buses on the route are Dennis Trident double deck buses and are fitted with state of the art digital CCTV systems, better heating, lighting and ventilation and an easy access facility which benefits parents with young children, Senior Citizens and the disabled
