Bus & Metro Information Kiosk on New Street

Travel West Midlands is pleased to announce the provision of improved bus and metro information in Birmingham City Centre.Following a successful trial period the information kiosk at the junction of New Street and Corporation Street (outside Waterstones book store) is being jointly used by Travel West Midlands and Birmingham City Council staff. The current structure is hoped to be replaced with a more permanent and modern facility during 2003.Madi Pilgrim, Area Director Central said: "The kiosk will be open between 10.00am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Two members of Travel West Midlands Customer Care team will be on duty as will a Birmingham City Council Information Officer. The Customer Care Assistants are highly trained and are experienced in providing members of the public with travel information regarding bus services, journey planning and the Midland Metro.More.General information about Birmingham and the West Midlands will also be available. We believe this will provide a valuable travel information service for residents and visitors alike, in a prominent location which is easily accessible in the main City Centre."
