Bus Driver Designs Rastafarian Hat

Travel West Midlands’ bus driver, Brian Bennett, was certainly using his head when he came up with an original design for a hat recently. The Perry Barr Garage driver, who is a Rastafarian, approached bosses with an idea for a cap designed especially to accommodate dreadlocks and Travel West Midlands agreed to get one made following Brian’s own design.Due to the success of the original hat, the Company has now agreed to incorporate the cap as part of its official uniform and will have over 30 of them made when the new uniform is introduced later this year.Phil Bateman, Travel West Midlands’ Corporate Affairs Director, said: "We think it is very important that bus companies are always willing to show some flexibility in meeting the cultural needs of our employees. Brian Bennett is a talented and clearly inspired individual and we were more than happy to take his design on board."Brian Bennett is 38 and has worked at Travel West Midlands for four years. He is a born and bred Brummie and a musician in his spare time, playing in a band called Positive Image.
