Bus Driver Gets ROSCO Safe Driving Award

Travel West Midlands bus driver, Bernard George, has clocked up an amazing 38 years of accident free driving and has received an award from the Road Operators’ Safety Council.Bernard, 63 from Marston Green, works at Travel West Midlands’ Lea Hall Garage and is a regular driver on the 590 service which runs from Chelmsley Wood to Coleshill. He was presented with his ROSCO Safe Driver of the Year Award at this years’ Coach & Bus Show held at the National Exhibition Centre.Tony Beetham, Secretary at ROSCO, said: "The Safe Driving Awards are made each year to the top driver in the UK who have been driving the most number of years free of accidents or convictions for any Road Traffic offences. Last year over 40,000 drivers were entered for the ROSCO Awards."Martin Nixon, Travel West Midlands’ Garage Director at Lea Hall, said: "Bernard can best be described as a safe pair of hands. He has achieved an incredible 38 years of safe driving and the Company is proud that he has been recognised by the industry in this way.
