Bus Leads Bikes for Toyrun

Travel West Midlands recently provided its Open Top bus to lead the Wolverhampton Toyrun to raise funds for the Toy Lending Library at the Beacon Centre for the Blind. The Toyrun was held on the 19th October 2002. The Open Top bus lead the procession of motorbikes from the Royal Oak, Scotlands, Wolverhampton to the Essington Rugby Club where on arrival live bands and fun games were played throughout the day to entertain the crowds. In total £1,000 was raised from this year’s Toyrun and the cheque presentation will be held at the Cross Guns Pub, Wednesfield on 23rd November with an auction to raise even more funds. Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director, Travel West Midlands said: "We were pleased to provide our Open Top bus to participate in the Wolverhampton Toyrun. The money raised from this event goes to a very worthwhile cause and I’m sure the new toys will be enjoyed by a lot of children."
