Travel West Midlands has proved it is well versed in the art of sponsorship by providing local poetic business venture with free bus passes ? and they are in seventh heaven!Local Coventry business venture, Heaventree Press, is a newly created combined poetry publisher and community project which focuses on the promotion of literature and the arts in Coventry.Travel West Midlands agreed to provide seven Annual Regional Travelcards worth nearly £3,000 for editors and resident poets to enable them to attend community workshops in and around Coventry.Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director at Travel West Midlands, said: ?This is a unique community based project which aims to involve the public in all sorts of creative areas. We were more than pleased to offer our support for what I am sure will be a most successful venture.?Simon Turner from Heaventree Press added: ?We hope to work with local and international writers and poets but also with local schools, hospitals, community centres and prisons. We have close links with Coventry City Council and the Pheonix Project and hope that our venture will bolster a reputation for community involvement and social engagement.?
