Bus Sponsor for Kids Tea Party

Travel West Midlands sponsored a Children’s Tea Party at Longford Park, Coventry, in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Golden Jubilee on Monday 3rd June 2002.The big hearted bus company offered £300 to pay for napkins, bags, party hats, plates, cups and food for the Longford Forum Steering Group’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party which was one of a host of events held at Longford Park. The Company also had 250 special helium filled Golden Jubilee balloons delivered for the event.Jos Bigham, Co-ordinator of the event, said: "Despite the weather, we had a wonderful day with an estimated attendance of 2,500 to 3,000. The children really enjoyed their tea party and golden balloons. Thanks to Travel West Midlands for making it such a special day."Phil Bateman, Travel West Midlands’ Corporate Affairs Director, said: "We were more than happy to support such a worthwhile event and I am pleased that the children had a great time at what appears to have been a very successful celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Golden Jubilee!"
