Bus Training On Course for Full House
Travel West Midlands has proved that bus driving is a vocation and now almost half of its bus driving staff is accredited with a nationally recognised qualification!To date, 1540 bus drivers out of 3,500, have achieved their NVQ in Transporting Passengers by Road - a practical, job related course covering all aspects of bus driving from customer care and driving standards to disability awareness training. A further 500 have registered and are actively working towards achieving the qualification.William Shaw, Travel West Midlands’ Training Manager, said: "All bus drivers are actively encouraged to register on the course and we have a dedicated NVQ Mentor based at each garage. It is fantastic that 42% of our driving workforce are now accredited and this is a testimony to the commitment of our drivers."
