City Centre Kiosk Moves

The Information Kiosk situated at the corner of New Street and Corporation Street is set to close on Friday 11th April 2003 and Travel West Midlands staff based there will move temporarily to The Pallasades Shopping Centre.Work will be starting on a new ’Birmingham Welcome Centre’ facility where the temporary Information Kiosk was sited and Travel West Midlands staff will re-locate to the Customer Services Desk in The Pallasades. John Wright, Travel West Midlands’ City Centre Manager, said: "The Kiosk is closing because work is due to start on a state-of-the-art tourism facility. We are currently assessing options to place our staff in a modern street kiosk in the future and we are discussing various suggestions with Birmingham City Council. In the meantime, The Pallasades have kindly agreed to allow our staff to continue giving out information from their Customer Care Desk."Staff will be on hand Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 3.30 pm to help with transport related queries.
