Coventry Bus Moves
Travel West Midlands has announced changes to bus stop locations in Coventry City Centre as a result of the Phoenix Project road closures.From Sunday 9th June 2002, work will begin on Millenium Place and bus stopping points and some routes will be changed. Travel West Midlands, in conjunction with Centro, Coventry City Council, other principal bus operators and the Phoenix Initiative, has produced a new bus stop guide for passengers.50,000 copies of the leaflet will be distributed in the City Centre and will be available at various outlets. In addition to this, Travel West Midlands has designed a new Coventry Bus Guide which includes a network map, City Centre bus stop guide and service frequency list. This will be available in the first week in June.Special offer flyers have also been inserted into all publicity information and distributed to houses in the region offering passengers 14 discounts at selected shops and stores in Coventry City Centre. The offers were secured by Travel West Midlands in conjunction with CV1, the City Centre Promotions Company.Dave Watkin, Travel West Midlands’ Head of Marketing said: "We have jointly worked with CV1, Centro, the Phoenix Initiative and other bus operators to ensure that information about bus stop moves is available for passengers before the redevelopment begins. To tempt them to use public transport and to promote shopping in the region we have also secured some discounted offers from City Centre retailers."
