Dundee To London Bike Ride Complete!
The ’Dream Team’, from Travel West Midlands’ Pensnett bus garage, yesterday completed their mammoth 520-mile charity bike ride from sister operation Travel Dundee to Travel London. The team completed the task on time and arrived just after 12pm on Tuesday 15th May at Travel London’s Walworth depot after nearly four days of tandem cycling through Fife, Cumbria, Lancashire, Shropshire, the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and finally into London.Paul Bishop, Bike Ride Co-ordinator for the Dream Team said: "The team would like to thank everyone across the country who have supported us during the charity bike ride. Your encouragement has been vital to us and we are well on the way to meeting our £5,500 donation target for our chosen charity, the National Missing Persons Helpline. It was a very tough four days but we all managed to keep our spirits up throughout our time on the road. We’re all very tired but immensely pleased and proud that we completed the challenge on time. We faced various difficulties along the way, including some bad weather, some of the team being ill and technical problems with the tandem bikes. But we’ve finished, and we’ll probably never do anything like that again in our lifetime!Click here to read morePictured: Top - the team finishing at Travel London’s Walworth depot.
