EU Labour Leader Visits TWM

Simon Murphy MEP, Leader of the British Labour Group in the European Union visited Travel West Midlands recently to discuss European Union Transport Policy. Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director, said: "We very much welcomed Simon taking the time and trouble to meet with us here at our Headquarters in Birmingham. The meeting was very useful and a number of issues were discussed including European Union Regulations on Public Service Requirements in Passenger Transport. Also discussed was the Drivers Hours Directive and the transition period regarding the transport ’open market’ We have agreed to meet again later in the year and we shall be in close touch with Simon so that we can up-date him on relevant issues."The European Union is a very big influence on public transport and its future growth.
