Hats Off to Bus Company

There is nothing old hat about Travel West Midlands - the region’s leading bus company has proved that it is head and shoulders above the rest by providing its female bus drivers with a smart new hat.The Company has recently invested £1 million in a new uniform for bus drivers which has included a specially designed Rasta hat for Rastafarian bus drivers and the introduction of a Travel West Midlands baseball cap proving that the Company is really moving with the times. The new hat for female bus drivers was requested by Walsall Garage driver, Sylvia Burton, who felt that an alternative to the baseball cap should be made available for women. She said: "I wanted a hat that would complement the new look uniform and look smart at the same time. As I’m not really into baseball caps, I asked the Company to consider looking for an alternative. I’m very pleased with the end product and will be proud to wear it whilst I’m in service."The new uniform includes shirts, blouses, jackets, trousers, skirts, ties and cravats, and was trialled by members of staff and assessed for quality, durability and comfort before being introduced.
