India to Benefit from £15,000 Worth of Uniforms
Travel West Midlands has donated thousand of pounds worth of surplus uniforms to a charity specialising in development projects in India.More than 2000 pieces of uniform, worth over £15,000 were delivered to the Divine Onkar Mission located on Dudley Road, Wolverhampton on Tuesday, 19th October 2004.The uniforms, which include waterproof trousers, tunic jackets, jumpers, cardigans and trousers will be used to make much-need items of clothing for use on the sub continent.This is the second consignment of uniforms, which have been donated to the charity - the first being March 2003.TWM Drivers have also been kindly donating money from fundraising ventures which has funded three water wells and they are currently raising money to build a school for the people and children in the country.Harry Bullock, Travel West Midlands’ Employee Director, said: "We are delighted to be able to donate such a high quantity of uniforms to this worthwhile cause and are looking forward to working with the charity in the future to help improve the livelihoods of hundreds of people living in India."
