Long Service and Safe Driving Awards

Travel West Midlands celebrated both Long Service and Safe Driving Awards for 2001 on Saturday 16th November 2002 at West Bromwich Social Club, Oak Lane, West Bromwich. Chris Roberts, Area Director West said: "I am very pleased to recognise the tremendous Safe Driving Record of our staff in the West area (West Bromwich, Hockley and Pensnett Garages). In this day and age, when we have so many cars and HGVs on the highways to achieve the number of years safe driving that we have is indeed exceptional. We are both pleased and proud of the dedication not only to the Company but also the bus driving professional that is represented." 24 bus drivers recorded 605 years safe driving between them. Special recognition was given to; Patrick McLaughlin who had 33 years safe driving, Ram Surroop Verma and Thomas Brennan who both had 31 years safe driving and Maurice Webley and Hugh Mulholland, again both with 30 years safe driving. 24 other bus drivers recorded 605 years safe driving between them. Hugh Mulholland, Horace Campbell, David Arnold and Gary Clements were awarded 30 Years Long Service Awards. 12 other bus drivers were awarded Long Service Awards for 25 years service.
