Magical Bus Trail Rings true

Travel West Midlands, in conjunction with Birmingham City Council’s Leisure Department, has designed a magical Tolkien Trail publicity leaflet which will prove to be a winner as discounted DVD’s or Videos of the ’Two Towers’ are up for grabs for lucky bus passengers.Gail Jones, Travel West Midlands’ Sales Manager, said: "It is said that Tolkien’s inspiration for the ’Shire’ home of the hobbits came from his childhood memories of Sarehole Mill, the ’Old Forest’ from Moseley Bog and Perrotts Folly and the Victorian Tower at Edgbaston Waterworks the Two Towers. We wanted to create something individual for our ’Tolkien’ fan passengers and this leaflet is ideal for a great day out over the Bank Holiday. Customers can then re-live the memories by snapping up a Two Towers DVD or Video for a £1 off at the Union Street WH Smith in Birmingham City Centre."30,000 copies of the ’Tolkien Trail by Bus’ leaflet, which includes bus service information to all the local Tolkien sites, will be distributed to over 500 outlets across Birmingham and will also be available at Travel West Midlands Travelcard & Information Centres and in all Birmingham Museums. The leaflet is based on the original Tolkien Trail produced by Birmingham City Council Tourism & Museums (www.bmag.org.uk).WH Smith, 29 Union Street, Birmingham is offering £1 off the purchase of a DVD or Video of The Twin Towers due to be released on 26th August 2003, a voucher is included in the leaflet and passengers will need to show a valid Travel West Midlands bus ticket or Travelcard.
