National Express UK Bus division’s managing director, Paul Thomas, is leaving the company on 9 July 2017 to take up a new post in Scotland, nearer his home.
As a consequence of Paul’s departure, Tom Stables will become managing director for UK Bus, alongside his wider responsibilities for National Express’ UK coach business and German rail operations.
Tom Stables said:
“Paul Thomas has worked for National Express in various engineering and management roles for a total of 15 years. I would like to thank him for his significant contribution to our bus business and wish him all the best for the future.”
Tom will provide the strategic leadership and direction for the UK Bus business, which also operates the Midland Metro tram for TfWM. Dirk Ballerstein, Chris Hardy and Ian Fraser remain and report to Tom as managing directors for German rail, and National Express and Kings Ferry coach operations respectively.
Kevin Gale has been internally appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer for National Express’ UK and German business units. Kevin will have day-to-day responsibility for operations, engineering and safety.
In addition, Madi Pilgrim, who was HR Director for UK Bus, now becomes UK HR Director with responsibility for both bus and coach divisions.
