National Express travel shop on Corporation Street opening Wed 18 May

National Express is moving its Birmingham city centre travel shop to Corporation Street.

The old travel shop in the Pavilions on the High Street is closing to make way for a new four-storey Primark. So the bus and coach company has transferred operations to Corporation Street, a few doors down from House of Fraser and opposite Poundland.

The National Express shop in the Pavilions will close at 1500 on Tuesday 17 May. Doors open at the new shop on Corporation Street at 0830 on Wednesday 18 May.

Adam Rideout, Head of Customer Experience at National Express, says:

“After fifteen years in the Pavilions centre, it is time for a new shopping experience for our customers. The brand new shop on Corporation Street will be state-of-the-art with digital screens displaying real-time journey information and a special zone for customers to top up their Swift card. We will of course still have our friendly team on hand to answer any questions people may have about travelling around the West Midlands.”

As well as bus tickets and Swift smartcards, passengers can use travel shops to buy tickets for National Express coaches and Midland Metro trams.

The Midland Metro extension is opening on Sunday 22 May. Trams will go all the way down Corporation Street to Birmingham New Street station and Grand Central shopping centre. There will also be a timetable change, bringing up to four extra trams during busy times.
