New Buses Introduced to Wolverhampton

Travel West Midlands are beginning to unveil the first batch of 75 of the new easy access double decker buses into Wolverhampton, as part of a £9 million investment.The first new vehicles will be rolled out on 26th January ’04 to operate on the 532 and 533 services between Wolverhampton and Northwood Park. The new buses are also the first in the area to include the new CrystalEyes CCTV Multi-Media system which links innovative flat screen tv’s with digital CCTV cameras.Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director said, "The company are investing heavilly in new buses for Wolverhampton. This £9m investment, in the shape of 75 new buses, will appear in the area, boosting both the image and the quality of public transport in the city."The new buses have been designed with easy access and safety in mind. There will now be easier boarding for parents with buggies and quality CCTV cameras.
