NEW Gemini Buses for Route 87

In our continued drive to improve the overall quality of bus services in the West Midlands, Travel West Midlands has introduced a fleet of 18 easy access, environmentally-friendly ’Gemini’ double decker buses. This represents a further £3 million investment into the bus fleet and underlines the commitment to improving bus travel in the Black Country.Route 87 links Dudley to Oldbury, Smethwick, Cape Hill, City Hospital and Birmingham. The service operates seven days a week from early morning until late at night, with a 10 minute frequency on weekdays. This route is provided without any subsidy.These new double deck buses benefit from comfortable seating, enhanced lighting and ventilation and also have innovative digital CCTV systems for further security.
