New Safer Travel Co-ordinator Appointed
Travel West Midlands, the region’s largest bus operator, has appointed a new Safer Travel Co-ordinator to further drive forward the award-winning and industry benchmark - ’Operation Safer Travel’ (OST).Tony Dallison, 39, joins TWM’s Corporate Affairs Department from TWM’s West Bromwich garage where he is currently Service Quality Manager. Tony started with Travel West Midlands in 1988 and has worked through various roles in his 18 years with the company.Stuart Henry, Divisional Corporate Affairs Manager for TWM said: "Tony’s role will be to drive our partnership forward and build on the past successes we’ve had through OST. In the future we aim to focus strongly on criminal prosecutions, establishing new partners, introducing innovative ideas and improving the ways in which we communicate results both internally to staff and externally to our customers. OST has been important over the past seven years in deterring all types of crime and we are sure this will continue with the help of Tony’s dedication and enthusiasm. I wish him well in his new role."Tony begins his new role on Monday 15 May and will be based at the UK Bus Division’s Bordesley Headquarters in Birmingham.- Operation Safer Travel has now been in place for over 7 years and has been recognised throughout the industry as consistant ’best practice’- In 2005, OST was highly commended at the UK Bus Awards for the work the initiative carries out at local schools through OST’s SMART Schools Project-The popular OST website is available through www.travelwm.co.uk/ost
