Official Opening for ’One Stop’ Travel Shop
Tom Watson, MP for West Bromwich East, has ’officially’ opened the Travel Information Centre in West Bromwich Bus Station - a joint partnership venture between Travel West Midlands and Centro. The Travel Information Centre is ideally located for public transport users in the heart of the new award winning West Bromwich Bus Station and provides a wide range of information including publicity leaflets and timetables as well as selling local public transport Travelcards and coach tickets.Tom Watson said: "Public transport has played an important role in the regeneration of West Bromwich Town Centre. With a comprehensive network of bus services and Midland Metro allowing local people to make connections this local Travel Information Centre is the icing on the cake."Brian Jackson, Chief Executive at Travel West Midlands, said: "We were more than pleased to work with Centro in providing this brand new facility in the bus station which is ideal for local bus and tram users in the area. The shop is well stocked with information and it is handy for renewing or buying Travelcards or coach tickets."Rob Donald, Director General at Centro, said: "West Bromwich Bus Station has been a massive success. We know the travel centre will be an enormous benefit for the bus station’s many users."
