One Arrest in Partnership Operation

In an Operation Safer Travel partnership operation with Walsall Police on the 28th April 2003 Travel West Midlands Revenue Inspectors stopped and checked 48 buses and scrutinised the fares and Travelcards of over 1,000 passengers. Four Travelcards were withdrawn for further investigation.One person was arrested for a public order offence and £180 was identified for retrieval from passengers trying to cheat on their fares. Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director, for TWM said: "We are very pleased that the operation with Walsall Police took place. TWM and West Midlands Police are working in partnership to provide safer public transport for passengers."
