September 11th - One Minute Bus Silence
Travel West Midlands has announced that all employees will observe a one minute silence on Wednesday 11th September 2002 at 1.46pm to mark the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York.Bus drivers are requested, wherever possible, to pull buses to the side of the road during this time.Phil Bateman, Travel West Midlands’ Corporate Affairs Director, said: "The Company wanted to give employees the chance to pay their respects to the victims of the terrorist attacks on the first anniversary. A general radio call will be put out to all bus drivers on the day to give them the opportunity of pulling over to the side of the road wherever possible."
