Service Changes in East Birmingham

New Service 24Starting on Monday 29th January 2007, Service 24 will be your new link between Ward End and Small Heath!Running every 30 minutes throughout Monday to Saturday daytimes, Service 24 is the ideal bus for staff and visitors at Heartlands Hospital.Service 24 is great for sports fans too, passing the Birmingham City Football Ground at St Andrews.Best of all, Service 24 is perfect for shoppers as the Fox & Goose Shopping Centre at Ward End, Asda at Hay Mills and Morrisons at Small Heath are all on the route!As well as replacing Service 28 between Bordesley Green and Small Heath, service 24 is also extended from the old terminus at Golden Hillock Road through to Morrisons and St Andrews.It also runs alongside Services 28 & 28A between Bordesley Green and Ward End to increase the frequency of buses over this part of the route to 8 buses an hour during Monday to Saturday daytimes!Click here to download more information and timetable (PDF)Improvements to Services 28 & 28AFrom Sunday 28th January 2007 we are making improvements to Services 28 & 28A ...We’re increasing the frequency over the main section of the route to every 7 to 8 minutes at peak times and every 10 minutes during shopping times on Mondays to Saturdays.We will be using newer buses too. You told us that you weren’t keen on the old double deckers, so we are replacing them with more modern single deck buses, making travelling easier for shoppers.To improve the reliability of these long routes, all buses will start and finish at Bordesley Green East (for Heartlands Hospital) during Monday to Saturday shopping periods. During Monday to Friday peak periods some journeys will start and finish at Ward End, Fox & Goose.A NEW Service 24 will run between Ward End, Fox & Goose and Small Heath during Monday to Saturday daytimes to further increase the service between Ward End and Bordesley Green and to replace the service between Bordesley Green and Small Heath. This new service will also run to Morrisons and St Andrews Football Ground.Service 28 will continue to run to Small Heath during evenings and Sundays, although buses will show route number 28B.Click here to download flyer (PDF)New Service 54 and changes to Service 26From Monday 29th January 2007, NEW Service 54 will be your direct bus service between Kingshurst, Shard End and Birmingham City Centre!This replaces Service 26 and runs directly into the City via Washwood Heath Road instead of via Bromford and Duddeston - saving you up to 10 minutes off your journey!Service 26 will continue to run between Birmingham and Bromford only.We’re also increasing the off-peak frequency from every 20 minutes up to every 15 minutes too!
