Service Changes to Birmingham and Solihull
Travel West Midlands has announced changes to certain bus services across Birmingham and Solihull to take effect from Sunday 4th September. The route changes are as follows:Service 14 - extended to and from Marston Green Rail station, with additional peak hour journeys as route 14A via Moor End Avenue.Service 41 - will become an orbital route, in part replacing the 42 and 56E, operating in both directions between Acocks Green and Solihull. Service 48 - revised to operate Maypole to Frankley.Service 49 - daytime frequency increased to every 20 minutes. Evening and Sunday journeys between Maypole and Northfield to replace the 49C. Service 49A, between Rubery and Northfield is revised to operate every 20 minutes.Service 69 - revised to operate between Weoley Castle and Solihull with an increased frequency to every 20 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes. A new half hourly service will replace the 69A in the evenings with a new 169 service providing an important link between Solihull and Heartlands hospital.Service 84 - shortened to operate between Cotteridge and Hawkesley, with fast and frequent services completing the journey from Cotteridge to and from City.Service 89 - revised to operate between The Radleys and Hurst Lane/Chester Road only. Existing, frequent services cover the remainder of this route.Service 966B/694 - the 966B service will be replaced by a new 694 Monday-Friday peak hours service in addition to existing 966 services.Minor changes are also being made to services 5 and 37A.In addition, the A6 has been renumbered as 76. These changes should not cause any major disruption and notices will be provided for passengers on all services concerned.Corporate Affairs Director Phil Bateman said: "These changes will provide greatly improved reliability and performance across our network on certain key routes.
