Sponsored Walk Bus Aid

Travel West Midlands came to the assistance of Telewest Broadband based at the Waterfront in Brierley Hill recently - and numbers certainly came up!Telewest approached the Company asking for assistance with transport for a fundraising event to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.Travel West Midlands agreed to provide a bus free of charge, in addition to one at a preferential rate, to transport Telewest employees to Packington Estate in Meriden for a sponsored five mile walk around the grounds. A total of £5,000 was raised overall and a cheque for £1,500 was donated on the day of the walk with money raised through sponsorship for the walk plus charity head shaves and local school events.Amra Begum, Communications Executive at Telewest and organiser of the sponsored walk, said: "We were very grateful for all of Travel West Midlands help and assistance in organising transport for this very worthwhile charity fundraising event."
