The Fort Bus Survey - Welcomed by Travel West Midlands

Travel West Midlands welcomes the report produced by Centro for the West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority, Integrated Passenger Services Committee, Monday 20th May 2002.The surveys undertaken by Centro prove that the use of the outer circle bus route by passenger going to the Fort is indeed light.Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director said: "We have stated that the changes that we are making to the 11A/11C (outer circle) bus service is being made to give greater reliability of service to the 50,000 passengers a day that use the outer circle. We are not reducing buses on the route, but the change will considerably improve the reliability of the service for the majority of passengers."Centro’s report advises the West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority that very few people use the service to the Fort. It further reports that during the daytime the circular 68A/68C routes, which operate every 20 minutes, maintains Centro’s accessibility standard to the Fort. Independent bus operator Valley Travel also operate a 695 bus service to the Fort providing an hourly daytime service.
