There will be dancing in the streets
Fancy learning how to foxtrot or Tango? Ever watched Strictly Come Dancing and longed to be on that stage? If so, grab your dancing shoes and head down to Paradise Forum in Birmingham on Monday 26th November! Centro and Travel West Midlands will be holding lunchtime ballroom dancing lessons to celebrate the new 'all singing all dancing' number 1 bus route! The event will be held between midday and 2.30pm in the centre of Paradise Forum, where passers by will have the opportunity to learn some dancing moves from the UK's third and fourth ranked Latin dancing couples who both attend Zig Zag Dance Factory in Wolverhampton.The new look number 1 route from Acocks Green to Birmingham is the second of six key bus routes through Birmingham and surrounding areas, to offer passengers an enhanced travel experience with better buses, shelters, improved timetables and real time information, all thanks to a partnership between Travel West Midlands and Centro-WMPTA.Cllr Gary Clarke, Chairman of Centro-WMPTA comments: "This enhanced number 1 route is designed to meet passenger demands for more frequent services that are safe, clean and accessible and will include improved bus shelters and real time information."Neil Barker, acting chief executive of Travel West Midlands, added: "The existing number 1 bus route, which runs between Acocks Green and Birmingham Five Ways, is receiving a number of improvements including: Monday to Saturday shopping frequency increasing to every 12 minutes, an additional late evening journey on Fridays and Saturdays, Sunday daytime frequency increased to every 20 minutes and services extended to the Town Hall, low floor buses to provide easy access, refurbished vehicles and new CCTV."For further information on the improvements to all bus routes log onto: www.networkwestmidlands.co.uk/Partnership
