TWM Board Mark Sports & Social Centenary

To commemorate the centenary celebrations for the West Midlands Travel (Birmingham) Sports & Social Society, the NX Bus Division Board of Directors have presented the Society with an exclusive crystal tankard which will be proudly displayed by the Society within their Sports Ground at Kings Heath, Birmingham.Phil Bateman, Corporate Affairs Director for NX UK Bus Division said; "This is a very special occasion. In today's day and age it is hard to find many companies that have been trading for 100 years, never mind the fact that a Sports & Social Club has achieved this rare distinction. It is because of this distinctive achievement that our Board of Directors not only wanted to commemorate the Society's centenary year with a special gift, but wanted to directly commend Chairman Tony Cullen and General Secretary Keith Smart, for the very worthwhile job they've done this year in organising a succession of terrific events for their members and their families.""We recognise that there are a very dedicated team of individuals that have been giving up their time, both now and in the past, developing the healthy sporting links and competitions that workers throughout the company have enjoyed."Phil added; "In today's ever-changing world, we are very proud of the values that have driven the formation and continuance of this employee driven Sports & Social Club. We hope that the Society will continue to grow and prosper over the next 100 years and our board of directors are extremely pleased to contribute a token of appreciation and something extra for the history books."The Society are due to release a 100 year commemorative brochure in the coming months which is packed full of photographs from yesteryear.Pictured at TWM's Bordesley Headquarters (from left to right) are: Jack Henry (Engineering Director); Tony Cullen (Sports & Social Society Chairman); Keith Smart (Sports & Social Society General Secretary); Martin Hancock (Marketing & Development Director); Peter Coates (Finance Director)
