TWM in Clean Water!
Travel West Midlands, part of the giant National Express Group and the leading transport company here in the West Midlands, is taking water conservation very seriously by introducing a new enzyme additive into its bus washes.Jack Henry, Engineering Director of NX Group’s UK Bus Division said; "Today on World Environment Day, here at TWM, we have demonstrated our green credentials by introducing a new, state-of-the-art water conservation system that will not only save this precious resource, but also allow the function of cleaning buses to take place with more efficiency, and ultimately, using less water. He added; "Our investment in this new equipment will give a huge environmental dividend to the community that we serve in the Lea Hall and Acocks Green areas of Birmingham where these bus washes are located. Not only will it remove odours from wash systems areas, but it will extend the life of the water which in turn will mean less removal of waste from the site. This extends the life of the waste water to four weeks from the previous maximum of one week that our old process operated."As part of this scheme a new package would be produced that would provide an on-going monitoring of the process by Waterman’s, a leading organisation involved in water management.World Environment Day is on Tuesday 5th June.
