Vaisakhi Celebration - 22-Apr-07

The Council of Sikh Gurdwaras in Birmingham marks this religious and festive period every year, holding the largest Vaisakhi Open Air Celebration outside India, attracting over 65,000 people.For more information about Vaisakhi see www.birmingham.gov.ukThe Celebration takes place at Handsworth Park from 10.00am to 6.00pm on Sunday 22nd April 2007.Everyone is welcome to attend this free event which will include Sikh cultural activities, a funfair, arts and crafts exhibitions, a sports arena and live entertainment.The celebrations in Handsworth Park will be preceded by two street processions from Birmingham and the Black Country will make their way to Handsworth Park to launch the festivities.
