Vintage Bus Treat for Station Opening
Travel West Midlands will be operating its vintage back loader double deck bus on Saturday 11th October 2003 as part of the Birmingham Alliance and Chiltern Railways’ celebrations to commemorate the official opening of the newly refurbished Moor Street Station.
The 1954 Daimler CVG6, which is painted in Birmingham Corporation colours, will be running around the City Centre between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm picking up on Moor Street Queensway (Stand MA).
Phil Bateman, Travel West Midlands’ Corporate Affairs Director, said: "Our vintage vehicle has been lovingly restored and maintained over the years by dedicated engineering staff and it will be a pleasure to see it out and about on the streets of Birmingham. The service is free and will be a fitting tribute to the opening of Moor Street Station."
