Wolverhampton and West Walsall Service Changes from 24 July 2011

As part of the Network Review process undertaken with Centro we will be introducing a number of service changes in the Wolverhampton and West Walsall areas from Sunday, 24 July 2011. The changes are timed to take place to coincide with the opening of the new Bus Station in Wolverhampton.

Some of the route changes reflect the different travel patterns that exist today. Lightly used sections may have fewer buses whilst busier sections may have more buses. Some buses have been taken from lightly used services to enable longer and busier routes more running time. For instance extra buses have been added to the 126 and 559.

The changes have been designed after an extensive period of consultation with passengers, our own staff, non-users and local councillors involving ourselves, other operators and Centro.

Cross city service 1, 2, 3 and 4 have been routed around the city centre to provide the best access to shops and workplaces with some stops also fairly close to the bus station. The routes ensure that more people have access to the Market area, Queen Square, Market Street, Princess Street, Cleveland Street and places such as Asda on Waterloo Road.
