National Express Dundee and Stagecoach have joined forces to ensure Dundee bus users don’t suffer as a result of major roadworks.
Passengers in the west of the city will experience disruption on National Express Dundee services 30 and 31 and Stagecoach service 51, due to the roadworks at Myrekirk Road from Monday 19 November 2012.
These works, undertaken by Bear Scotland, are scheduled to last for at least 12 weeks.
This may affect customers in areas to the west of the city wishing to use our services from Liff to Tesco South Road. However buses travelling from Invergowrie and Ninewells to Liff will be unaffected.
As the 51 Sunday service is operated only by Stagecoach, National Express Dundee is working in co-operation with them to minimise disruption for passengers. The pair have entered into an agreement whereby the Stagecoach ticket for service 51 will be accepted on the above National Express Service 29 on Sundays.
National Express Dundee service 30/31 from Liff to Tesco South Road will be diverted Monday to Saturday as follows:
• Gourdie Brae - Liff Road - A90 Kingsway – Liff Road – Buttars Loan – South Road
As this service will be unable to travel directly past Tesco South Road, passengers are advised to alight at the bus stop on South Road adjacent to Buttars Loan and transfer to Service 29 Charleston which will travel along South Road to the supermarket.
Passengers should retain their original ticket to show to the driver – there will be no extra charge for this bus transfer.
Stagecoach Strathtay Service 51 from Liff to Tesco South Road will be diverted on Sundays as follows:
• Gourdie Brae - Liff Road - A90 Kingsway – Liff Road – Buttars Loan – City Centre
Passengers travelling to Tesco South Road should alight on South Road at Perrie Street, using the pedestrian crossing to get to the bus stop at Sharp’s Court. They should then transfer to National Express Service 29 Charleston to travel to the supermarket.
Passengers should retain their original ticket to show to the driver - there will be no extra change for this bus transfer.
Full details of these diversions and the temporary timetable for services 30, 31 and 51 can be found on our website www.nxbus/dundee and at our Travel Centre on Commercial Street.
