National Express Dundee is getting ready for a rush of customers joining the festivities at Dundee's Christmas Light Night this Friday (15th November).
The bus operator has a number of extra vehicles ready and waiting to carry passengers travelling to and from the city centre for the switching-on celebrations.
Customers should be advised that a number of bus stops in the city centre will be affected by street closures from Friday afternoon until later in the evening. There will be notices on bus stops advising passengers of alternative pick up points. National Express will also be sending out inspectors to redirect passengers, monitor bus usage and co-ordinate any additional vehicles.
National Express Dundee is also teaming up with Wave 102 to travel across the city on Friday afternoon with a very special Christmas Bus, broadcasting live in the lead up to the switching on ceremony.
Acting Operations Manager Kevin Fitzpatrick said: "The Christmas Light Night is such a popular event in the city's calendar that we want to make sure people can travel to and from the festivities quickly and easily, so we're ready to beat the rush with additional buses and staff on-site, actively monitoring the situation and directing extra services wherever they're needed.
I hope the Christmas bus will also bring some festive cheer to the local community across the city!"
