National Express Dundee service changes lead to 53% passenger growth

Recent changes to National Express Dundee’s services have already improved performance, according to early figures.

The timetable alterations, which came into effect on Sunday 17 February have seen punctuality rise to 93% - an improvement of 3% on the normal rate.

A number of new, earlier journeys have been introduced for Sunday mornings – additional services in Downfield to Ninewells Hospital have experienced a week-on-week passenger growth of 53%.

On the number 29, an altered 0805 Sunday morning service beginning at Douglas, instead of the town centre, has doubled the number of passengers it usually carries.

Operations Manager Paul Clark said:   “We’re very encouraged by these early figures – our aim in making these service changes was to improve punctuality and reliability, which we have already achieved. And in doing so, we’re also attracting more customers. I hope word will spread about our additional early morning weekend journeys and even more people will benefit from the services.”
