Visitors to Dundee’s Celebration in the Park this Sunday, 9th August, will get a chance to view the past, present and future of the local bus company.
On display at Dundee Motor Show in Baxter Park will be National Express Dundee’s current Volvo B7 vehicle repainted in the old Corporation colours, in partnership with Dundee Museum of Transport. There will also be an exclusive sneak peek at the operator’s brand new livery, set to be rolled out across the business this autumn. A Volvo B10 has been given a fresh new lick of green paint and bears the new name and logo ‘Xplore Dundee’ which is the name National Express Dundee will soon be known by.
It’s hoped bus enthusiasts and the general public will be excited to get a first glimpse at the new-look vehicles sitting next to the Heritage bus, a fond reminder of the city’s past.
The event begins at 12 noon until 17:00 and there will be a free vintage shuttle bus running between Baxter Park and Dundee Museum of Transport. The Land Train will also be operating trips around Baxter Park and there will be hundreds of vehicles on display.
Anyone wishing to attend the motor show can catch National Express services 28, 29, 32, 33, 15, 17 and the Outer Circle to Baxter Park; not only that but Scottish Concessionary Pass holders can currently buy a Child Daysaver for £1 as part of the operator’s summer ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer.
